I'm sure not all of you are Charger fans, but I am, and this feels all too disgustingly familiar.

A few coaches ago, we had a guy named Marty Schottenheimer. He was a real beloved head coach around San Diego, and he straight up dominated the regular season. We're talking damn near every year the Chargers were the 1 or 2 seed in the AFC, and life was good...

Until we got to the playoffs. In which our teams magically found a way to choke.

So let's fast forward to 2007. Marty had led the Chargers to a 14-2 season and we looked fucking primed for a super bowl run. Philip Rivers was lighting it up, the Chargers D was on a roll, and Ladainian Tomlinson? Well he was the MVP having one of the best seasons for a runningback in NFL history!

Then we lose to New England... 24-21... Thanks to Marlon McCree deciding not to kneel after locking up the game winning interception.

Schottenheimer was fired a month later.

And once Schottenheimer left, the Chargers had never got above 9 in a season ever again. Between shitty conservative lifeless corpses of coaches in Norv Turner and Mike McCoy, the Bolts are now in the process of wasting the best quarterback in franchise history's career thanks to not being able to find anyone remotely close to Schottenheimer's ability.

So why do I share this?

I share this, because with all the talk about firing Boudreau, I'm horrified that I might be seeing similarities.

Boudreau's a coach that brings constant division titles and regular season success to the Ducks, but can't ever come through when it matters most in the playoffs.

I do realize that the people who want Boudreau gone are righteously angry. They do have a point. FOUR FUCKING GAME 7 LOSSES IN 4 FUCKING YEARS IS UNFORGIVEABLE! Especially when we were supposed to be one of the front runners to compete for the cup this year.

But I'm just scared... I'm scared of the Ducks getting burnt like the Chargers...

I'm not trying to argue one way or the other. I'm just sharing my thoughts and venting after this loss... But Jesus Fuck, a first round fucking exit?!

Shit's unforgiveable at this point...
