There are multiple different teams who apparently kicked tires but LAK and EDM were clearly two of the big ones.
The only logic I can see in holding on to him is that if the offers are similar to what Edmonton gave up for Ekholm, that's not so far from the floor of his value. Be willing to wait until the draft to accept that kind of offer, and hope someone like Dorion gets desperate as at the last minute.
A big issue was apparently their unwillingness to take back cash. That won't be as much of an issue at the draft since teams have more cap flexibility in the summer before their roster is finalized.
With that said, I highly doubt their price will be met, regardless of how long they wait.
