Announced US inflation, July adjusted - 5.4%

Actually it's much worse according to this article. https://www.hellenicshippingnews.com/freight-rates-continue-to-rocket-with-no-end-in-sight-to-container-crisis/

Pre covid it cost 3k to ship from China to the eastern US. Last price was 22k. Also, China has the strongest covid lockdowns in the world. It is very possible the delta variant hits a major Chinese port city and a lock down occurs. Last year the ports went to 30% capacity during the lockdowns. If this happens it would cause years long shipping issues.

There is also massive flooding displacing millions in China currently. I'm not smart enough to figure out what exactly is made in each city but I suspect massive shortages/price spikes in at least some items due the flooding. If I knew how to find out the true extent of the flooding in each place and what's made there I see a huge opportunity to make money. I am too dumb for that though. If your on the fence about buying something you know is shipped from China like furniture though I personally would buy it now before the prices make it to the end products. I don't see shipping issues ending anytime soon.
