antibiotics for a week.. came back after 5 days ( was using hydrocortisone as advised by doctor afterward as well)… feeling hopeless ):

I’m sorry you’re struggling with discomfort but for what it’s worth, I think your skin looks good and that the eczema isn’t that noticeable! I had the worst eczema of my life 20 years ago in college and remember crying to a new dermatologist that I was too embarrassed to leave the house because of it. He stared me down and curtly told me he had patients who were burn victims who had it worse and didn’t let it stop them from living their lives. I felt more ashamed than inspired by this, but he’d made his point. I think that we’re sometimes more self-conscious about our skin than we need to be. I still struggle daily with feeling “gross” and the scarring and discoloration has only accumulated over the years. This is lame, pointless advice but try not to miss out on life because of eczema. I think that people are generally too self-conscious about their own appearance to care about how our skin looks.
