eczema or ringworm? i’m going to the doctor tomorrow but for today i have to work and i’m really anxious!!!

It’s not ringworm, but whether it’s eczema or not depends on how you and your doctor define it and what part of the world you’re in. In the U.S. “eczema” can mean anything from a red/itchy spot that comes and goes within minutes or 48-72 hours (mosquito bite, poison ivy or exposure to an irritant contained in a new or reformulated cleanser or makeup product), to “the chronic eczema” where a large portion and/or integral part of the body (such as feet) is affected and subsequently every related system of the body, mind and social impact—picture crying facedown in your closet before almost every wintertime gala year after year because the tulle on the dress is itchy, your arms are now covered in fresh claw marks but the dress looks stupid if I cover my arms with a sweater, but it’s my own fault because I’m not healthy enough (only work out 3 times a week instead of 5, shouldn’t have smoked a cigarette 3 weeks ago), the makeup is not sticking to my skin because it’s oozing underneath (but it’s sticking to this stupid sweater!! OMG I’m so fucking gross!!), but I’m too embarrassed to tell my friends I can’t go to the gala because I feel like I’m to blame, so I say I have a stomachache. This is chronic eczema. If this is you, you need help. Otherwise, a little OTC hydrocortisone will clear it up ; )
