Any hardcore weightlifters and high-mileage runners?

What I’ve noticed is that I can run higher mileage if I’m not lifting too heavy/not very strong. But I’ve had trouble running higher mileage when strong enough to have decent heavy lifts. I mean 315+ 400+ on the major lifts.

For example if I’m only repping something like 185 or even 205 for sets of 10 on the bench the mileage doesn’t seem to matter. However, when I’m at a fairly strong stage and do sets with 245+ on the bench, I don’t seem to be able to increase my mileage past a moderate amount. Not without being a bit too tired or having some minor nagging injuries pop up.

Any of the stronger 40+ mpw guys have any advice on how you guys adjusted/ramped up to that?
