[Jeff] Starting to think this Joe Biden guy might be the best choice for president this year.

Fair enough, I'm not saying he doesn't have a problematic record. Some things I can pass - like him voting against LGBT rights, it was in a time when the majority of the country did not support it, doesn't make it right, but I also do believe that people can change, and he genuinely did. He still pushed for it ahead of the curve of most of Washington, and swayed the president's opinion on it. Obviously leftists were doing pivotal work beforehand that laid the groundwork for the movement.

Many things he still supports I disagree with, many worrying things are on his record. But for me any hopes of remotely moving the country in a progressive direction first begin with saving what we've done and building upon it. I wouldn't shame anyone for voting 3rd party - I just get frustrated by the "Biden and Trump are essentially the same" rhetoric, which isn't what you were saying. Saying that is essentially throwing trans people, uninsured people (without the ACA), potentially even Women's rights (Trump has alluded to challenging Roe v Wade many times), and tons of others that Trump would hurt - but Biden would at the very worst be absolute neutral to. And yeah, they may both capitulate to big lobbyists and wall street, they may both have foreign policy that I abhore, but personally I just have to bite that bullet to help those other groups for the next 4 years. You do you.
