Any theories

Hi, thanks for your response :) I feel pain around the entrance, vestibule, sometimes my clitoris, both when provoked and unprovoked. I usually notice it when sitting. The q-tip test I find tolerable (I’m not flinching in pain), but when the vestibule is rubbed, I notice pain generates soon after.

I’ve got mild vaginismus too, as tampon insertion has always hurt me, and a pelvis injury from gym, so a bit going on. But no vulvodynia until this thrush infection. I also tested negative for all of those you listed, unsure about the inflammatory vaginitis though.

I also used the pessary pills, not the creams, so don’t know if that makes a difference? I was still in pain even after the two oral pills, and didn’t treat the thrush for about 3 weeks after first noticing the pain as my GP told me to wait for my period to finish. Due to this I don’t think it was a reaction to any medication, but maybe the actual thrush? I’m not sure lol! Did you know you had a reaction to the creams?

My gyno is leaning towards either more nerves have grown down there, or I have a thrush organism sensitivity in which she can put me on a long course of oral thrush medication to see if it’ll lower my thrush organism count if it’s still too high for my body (I’m a bit afraid to take the meds those incase an allergic reaction etc).

I see my gyno again in March, so I’ll have to ask her about inflammatory vestibulodynia! I’ve also seen some women cute their thrush induced vulvodynia after PT, and even some hormone medications. It’s really a difficult condition to treat! So thankful for this community though everyday!! Thanks for your help and kind words!! :) I’m on the way to work but will take a read of your post on your story later x
