My opinion is most younger people will be forced out as they cannot reasonably afford to live there. Also, I found it extremely difficult to make new friends after HS on LI but that has nothing to do with money and everything to do with people sticking with their childhood friend groups and never branching out. I’m 28 and all my friends on LI still live at home. They won’t be able to stay forever. I moved to NC and love it, it’s easy. The only young couples I know who have a house on LI had help from parents, which aren’t many. It’s sad but true. Even older generations are moving out. I have nothing positive to say except congrats on buying a house in one of the most ridiculously expensive places in America, and for what you get especially. Enjoy the pizza, beach 2 months a year, and family.
