And as a musician and athlete, I can definitely say your skills will deteriorate if you go two years without practicing, so honestly, any point in this argument can get nowhere. It is harder to get back into playing an instrument or playing a sport, in my opinion, but plenty of people disagree.

The thing is though...the people who get exempt from the military are typically olympians who have won a gold medal and some professional musicians because they receive international validation, which makes South Korea look better (A different comment explained this better than me). Yes, K-Pop groups can make South Korea look better, but not all groups are as known internationally as BTS. Only the K-Pop stans at my school know there’s more K-Pop groups than just BTS.
