Apple Engineer Talks About New 2016 Macbook Pro

The new MBPs are the best laptops Apple has ever made, and please hear me out as to why I think so.

First, you have to understand folks like me, who have completely bought into the Apple way of thinking. (I'm a 'pro user', a college professor who owns a design company and uses OnShape, a web based CAD tool, and Xcode to develop apps, and Final Cut to produce my web videos, and Logic Pro to record folks in my basement studio.)

My 2015 rMBP is the center of all of this. I carry it with me wherever I go. I can't wait to get the new MBP.

Currently the only ports I use on my MBP are for video out for the lecture hall, a thunderbolt -> VGA adapter, which I keep in my backpack. Otherwise I plug directly into my office monitors, or use my AppleTV at home to extend my desktop to my television.

I HATE ports. I want everything to be wireless, or as simple as possible. The sooner everything goes to USB C the better.

I have an iPhone 7 with no headphone jack. It doesn't bother me at all. Nobody ever needs to plug their iPhone directly into their computer. I haven't had to do that for at least 3 years.

So I am right there on the edge screaming at Apple to push these wireless boundaries forward.

Remember these laptops are brand spanking new, and will have to be relevant for another couple years. How do you think the landscape will look in 2 years?

If it's not the laptop for you, no need to buy it. But I can assure you, Apple's core demographic is going to eat these babies alive. I cannot wait to own one.
