What is your favorite non-Bears football moment?

Mine isn't from an nfl game, or a college game, nor high school or even a youth game, although it was a couple maybe 12-14 year olds that faced off.

In some ways I still consider this to be one of the the best football games I've ever seen in person even though I have been to some good ones (They are who we thought they were, Iowa vs Missouri at the Insight.com bowl). This particular game was a match up in NFL Blitz. This wasn't just some game played in the basement some bored Saturday afternoon though. This game was the championship match of a tournament that had taken the entire Quad City Steamwheelers (of the Arena Football 2 league) season. The two kids got to go down on the field at halftime and play on the jumbo tron to decide the winner.

When they introduced the kids they mentioned how both of them played terrific defense during the tournament giving up less than 20 points a game, which is impressive in a video game especially NFL Blitz. The championship went much the same way and I believe the score was 19-13 with less than 10 seconds to go in the fourth quarter. The offense sitting at its own 26 yard line.

With one second to go the kid gets the snap off and hits a slant route with nothing but green field ahead of him he hits his burst and runs it in for the touchdown. His kicker comes out for the extra point, the kick goes up, and the game ends 20-19.

Now I know it's just a video game who cares right? Well the differences in the prizes between first and second was quite large. First place won each of the current gaming systems a ton of games and something like 1500 bucks to spend at the local used video game store. Second place got a 50 dollar gift card. The kid that won was freaking out, he might as well have just won the Super Bowl while the other kid was just crushed.
