Applying to WWU, what should I know? [Transfer from OOS]

I transferred to WWU winter quarter 2015 from a university in Texas! Transferring can be very frustrating, especially with the transfer equivalency for your credits. Not a lot of my classes that I had taken at my university transferred to Western, so I had to retake a lot.

Finding housing was pretty hard, but if you get accepted I'd join the WWU housing and WWU buy/sell/trade groups on Facebook because people are always posting on there.

Bellingham is very rainy and cloudy those winter months (invest in a good rain jacket) and it was hard for me to make friends my first quarter here. To me it seemed as if everyone already had their set group of friends and no one really wanted to make new friends. But then I got employed on campus spring quarter 2015 and met my boyfriend and met my roommates.

Finding a job can be on the harder side, but it's not impossible! It's all about timing.

Now I absolutely love western and moving back up to Bellingham was one of the best decisions I've ever made (I lived here in middle school). WWU has a gorgeous campus and the 3 months of good weather in the summer is worth the 9 months of rainy, wetness. There are TONS of activities to do. You're close to Vancouver BC and Seattle and Mt. Baker is an hour east! I transferred from a larger university in Texas, and it seemed like professors didn't care about students there. All of my professors at WWU have been amazing and I feel like I am a lot more challenged here, which I like.
