why are BlueLine taxi drivers, such jerks?

That’s a pretty one-off, crazy experience.

Uber would have refunded you for your ride, cancelation fee, and/or given you a credit had you reached out to customer service. They’ve refunded me for lesser complaints like a driver taking multiple wrong turns because they clearly didn’t know the area. They’ve also refunded me the $5 cancellation fee before when the driver was taking too long to get to me.

I can’t speak to where you live, what time of day or night it was, or how much demand there was for Ubers when you ordered, but if you live out in the boonies and it was a crazy surge pricing time like Bluesfest or New Years, I could see 45 minutes being understandable.

Uber and Lyft are a million times better than cabs in this city, and I assume every city. At least you have a wait time you could look at in-app rather than just be given a vague time the cab might show up.
