Yes. Very concerned. I am convinced that if we make no new signings, we can not challenge for the title. Before the transfer window started, I figured if we signed Cech and Walcott extended his contract, we would be OK. It is clear that that is not the case with our rivals strengthening their squads (Otamendi, Pedro, Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin, Memphis, Firmino, Benteke) and all we've got is Cech. We need a new CF at least. Giroud is good but not going to carry us for an entire season. He is too reliant on our more creative players. Our rivals have Aguero, Bony, Rooney, Chicharito, Costa, Falcao, and Remy. Even though I would consider Giroud better than some of those players, they can create chances on their own. I want us to be able to win or draw even when we haven't played well. Our CF has to be able to create chances on their own at times. On a bad day people should say "Arsenal's midfield kept getting shut down but luckily Benzema was able to show a bit of skill to get past the defenders and score on his own" not "It is not Giroud's fault he didn't score. Arsenal's midfield didn't create enough chances for him." We needed a goalkeeper who can earn us points who I think we have now. We need a DM who is experienced and world class defensively and is good at passing who I thought was going to be Schneiderlin but wasn't. We also need a CF who is strong, good in the air, clinical, good at passing, and can create his own chances at times. That is Benzema. Giroud needs his chances on a silver platter, Welbeck is mistake prone, and Walcott plays too one dimensional through the middle. I hope the problem is availability rather than reluctance to sign like Wenger says.
