Why are you single?

I was a fat awkward 17yo who had never had any interest from girls or had a kiss. I lost a little weight, gained a little confidence and met a girl at a party. She was the first girl i kissed and we ended uo dating for 6yrs

She wasnt right for me, and when she wanted to settle down and commit to house/kids/marriage at 24 I wanted to have some life experiences before that, so we broke up

I spent like 18 months or so casually dating and having some of those experiences. Then I went to do what i always wanted to do and travel the world. My first destination was easy mode just starting off in the US

This was February 2020, I got through a month before covid hit. But while I was there I met this girl that I bonded with more than anyone else I ever had. I was fully expecting to be cycling through girls there (sounds bad i know but my australian accent was extremely popular there), but I found myself wanting to spend as much time with her as possible

Eventually i had to return to Australia, but weve kept in touch. Weve talked pretty well everyday for almost 2yrs now and she has a student visa sorted to come here the moment the borders open

So while we're not technically together (weve discussed all this), Ive had the odd casual thing here but havent met anyone else come close to what I felt for her. Ive kept myself single this whole time waiting for her
