Spyderco doesn't make any additional money

I didn't say they did. But they sell 100% quickly, unlike most production knives.

Obviously if a run is selling out in seconds, you could have sold at least twice as many as you did, probably more like 10x.

I don't know about the knives. They aren't for me. However, we have no idea what drives the numbers. It could be that their limited availability is what causes the demand. If they pushed it, then the demand would drop. If people are paying "scalpers", that means the demand is much higher than supply.

It could also be that the knives in question are limited because of production considerations as well and simply that is just the way it is.
