AskQI What is your opinion on the banning of all-male panels?

So you think that we aught to solve institutional sexism by creating discrimination against men; even if there is little, to no, evidence there was ever any discrimination against women?

The fact of the matter is the talent pool of female comedians is far smaller than male comedians, so forcing female guests to take a spot on the show may help equality, but does nothing for the show. These shows do not exist for the purpose of forcing women into the limelight, they are meant to entertain and educated. Basically what has been done is an institution of QI has been hijacked in order to serve the interests of a quite vocal minority of feminists. If this gender-based discrimination starts affecting the quality of the show (which I already believe it has), then I think it is time to finally ignore the feminists, and put it back to the way it was. Many funny women have made it to the show without the help of discrimination against men.

There are many avenues where women can be empowered, but forcing it down everyone's throat hasn't been shown to actually achieve anything, or produce desireable results, other than creating new insitutions which discriminate against men. Curiously, what are desireable results? 50/50? 60/40? 70/30? or perhaps a profressive number until women form 100% of show guests? Perhaps it is having an unobstructed opportunity to make it to the show?

Equality is a false norm. Women behave differently than men, treat others, and are treated, differently than men, why would we expect them to achieve the same results, or want the same things as men do when they never have? What is happening with the show, and in many institutions in general, is ridiculous, and quite a obvious plot against men bu feminists; and to what end?

I think it does matter what the reasons are there are inequality, and I do not think they all inevitably end up at institutional sexism. That is just plain bullshit.
