‘Batman: The Killing Joke’ World Premiere Set for Friday Night at SDCC 2016

Big smile on my face as I read this heading. I'm in there every year--i've always tried to be, at least. Here's hoping 2016 will be no different. For me the Ballroom 20 WB animated film panel on Friday night has been the one consistent sdcc tradition i've been able to hold onto all these years. No matter how much more frenzied and stressful the Con has seemingly become over the years, finding my seat for Ballroom 20 WB animated film panel time has always been the point where I finally allow myself to relax for a second, take a deep breath, and TRULY take it all in. Con's now half over, but an entire awesome weekend still lies ahead. The exhibit hall and panel rooms have nearly emptied out; many of our tired, hungry and nerdy masses are done fighting the good fight for the day, and now yearn for all the real food and nightlife that Friday night Gaslamp has to offer. (That, or they're camped out in line for Saturday Hall H. What crazy troopers we all are.) That's all fine... I know exactly where I'd like to be. I hope to be among those of you holding off on dinner for just 2 more hours for the opportunity to once again applaud and thank our childhood heroes, Bruce and Andrea, --and this year Kevin and Mark, and whoever else has decided to grace us with their talent for this annual comic con film gift... it's not lost on me that it's so much harder to get in here now than it used to be, and that every year I'm in here may very well be my last for a while. But when the lights finally dim and that WB sign goes up on screen, goddammit that's when all the stress lifts away. That's when I always finally FEEL it. The joy. The gratitude of having survived yet another year. I'm here. I made it. I'm home. All the crazy was fucking worth it.
