Before we jump on the bandwagon to draft a QB in order to 'learn' from Romo, let's consider a page from John Elway's history....

I guess your'e not familiar with our league leading dead cap money

Yeah, that's not true. The Saints, 49ers, Bears, Dolphins, Bucs, Ravens, Chiefs, Lions, Steelers, and Patriots have more dead cap than the Cowboys. The Cowboys haven't lead the league in dead cap since 2011(as far back as I can find stats for).

our 2009 draft class

That was 6 years ago. The average NFL career is 3 years. On top of that the first pick the Cowboys had was in the third round.

How about the next 6 years? 2010 they got Dez and Lee, 2011 they got Smith, Carter, Murray, and Harris(the three that aren't on the team anymore left because they were good and got paid by other teams), 2012(the worst since 2009) they got Crawford, 2013 they got Frederick, Wilcox(decent backup), and Williams, 2014 they got Martin, Hitchens and Lawrence.

Saying "But we had this awful draft 6 years ago" is a shitty way to prove your point. That was so long ago. Only 5 of the 32 players picked in the first round in 2009 are still with the team that drafted them. Chances are whoever the Cowboys would have drafted in the first/second round wouldn't be on the team anyway.

Why pick 2009? Why not go back further? The 2006 draft class was arguably worse because the Cowboys had a first and second round pick then, and the 2004 draft has almost as much impact on the 2015 Cowboys as the 2009 draft does. Hell if anything the 2006 class hurts even more, because the only player left from that draft(Hatcher) is now a Redskin.

This is also why also seek talent in UFAs - it's because we've traded too many picks for too much garbage, and look for bargain basement deals from UFAs.

Every team does that. If a team didn't they would be the most mismanaged team in the league.

Mistakes that the Cowboys made in the 2000's are largely irrelevant to the team now. The fact that you have to go back 6 years to try to prove your point says something about the Cowboys management. Yeah, it used to be terrible......over half a decade ago.
