Being disabled but not looking outwardly disabled and so having to deal with glowering nobheads who think they're Avengers every time you use a disabled parking space.

What say you to me driving my mum to the shops and parking in the parent and child parking spaces? I’m 40 BTW....

It’s a very minor annoyance of mine but I can’t see why these spots have to be right next to the entrance, albeit I agree they should be bigger spaces.

I mean, I get it, I know why - families are much bigger customers than me and my girlfriend because they’re buying loads more, so the supermarkets want to make their life as easy as possible, but between disabled bays and parents with children spaces my local supermarket covers half the length of the car park before the rest of us can park, with our fully functioning legs I’ll admit.

I’m not saying there aren’t invisible disabilities and people who challenge those using the blue badge bays need a slap, BUT (there’s always a but) there is abuse of the system at a number of levels, because the lengths that people will go to not to have to walk a little bit further.

And to the pitchfork brigade, my mum has crippling arthritis in everything between the hips and the ankles, but apparently doesn’t qualify for something that genuinely restricts the distance she can walk, but it feels like others with insert disability that does not require any close parking to the supermarket do qualify. So, you’re damn straight I’ll be petty and pedantic about it.
