When your dream home is now a regular sized 2/3 bed with a garden for the dog

You post seems a little snobby, but I get what you meant. On the positive side, a home is what you make of it, not the bricks and mortar that make it.

I am in a 2/3 bed 1880's terraced house, small back yard, front door opens onto the footpath, right in the centre of town. The 3rd bedroom is a small box room. When our 3 kids lived here, it was full of life. Being in the town, it seemed to the the hub for all their friends. The boys box room, usually had him and between 2 and 6 lads in, all gaming. On weekends, the oldest daughter had her friends over, again between 2 and 6 of them. Some Friday nights/Saturdays it seemed like there were a hundred people coming and going. A full, lively, homely home. Space was tight but it worked. Now just two of us, and the space is plenty.

My sister is in a big 4 bed detached house, massive garden and now there is just the 2 of them, she wants to down size to a 2 bed.
