So if you play the game the first time and Kara gets killed then she’s locked out the rest of the game. If you finish the game and then go back and replay that chapter under “chapters,” you can keep her alive to the end of the chapter. But if you then exit to main menu and choose chapters again, she will be dead again.

The only way to override her being dead is either start a new game, which will overwrite all your choices as you play, or choose a checkpoint and play from that point in with no other checkpoints being loaded. The second method doesn’t save your progress.

I’m reading the best method to see everything is to play through how you like, then go back through the chapters and get all possible choices within those chapters for what you played, and then start a new game and repeat.
