If you actually knew your history the confederate flag stood for more then racism. Yes racism was a part of it but not the sole purpose.

Assuming someone is racist is itself racism. And the mass ban of confederate sales was promoted by racist black activists.

I am learning about these things from being in america and taking history coarses.

And I agree, black history month is overboard and not necissary. Its a symbol of racism gone too far.

On the contrary, through history europe has seen more slaves then america did in its short slave run. In both countries anyone was sold into slavery and anyone could own a slave. Race didnt matter. Most general childrens history classes focus more on the white enslaving the black and treat it as if it was never the other way around. When in reality black people were the majority of slave owners and both white and black were equally sold into slavery.

You should read up on the history of the confederate flag. The real hisotry, not the media blown out of proportion version where the confederates only goal was racism. Racism was only a small part of the confederate nations.

And yes, I would still say cry me a river to anyone who takes offence to anything from history or even from modern day.

Some people will be ass hats, ignore them and get over it. If you cant get over it, cry me a river.

Change comes from positive behavior and the people need to realize that banning something or hindering someones expression should not happen because you feel it is racist or biased.

What should be happening is allowing freedom of expression while educating people on equality and proper behavior.

Anything extreme such as hate groups whose sole purpose is to inflict emoutional or physical trauma should be dealt with.

Take the black freedom group that promotes looting, rape, and murder when a black individual is harmed. That is extreme and should be dealt with. If they were peacefully protesting instead of spreading vandalism and terrorism, then they would be fine.
