Blizzard patents system to match f2p players against top tier decks to "encourage engagement with the monetization system"

This is certainly something many have, in moments with a tin foil hat, expected. It is rather a double edged blade. It may entice the poor rookie to spend more but it could have the opposite effect and force them away. But such manipulation is possible in a digital card game, or any digital game for that matter. Is it sneaky and foul? Yes, but that is the way gaming is now. Of course such a system removes the notion that matchmaking is poor as users will know that they are being targeted commercially. At that however, not many people will know this exists. Its hard to get angry at such a thing I guess, its so common and it just mounts up with the other shady things blizzard has done (as have other companies) to keep shareholders happy. The more things like this happen, the more I am pushed to indie titles. But remember, its all about money, we spend money they make money. It is f2p in name (and to a select few). Sometimes I regret the moment I left the f2p model for Hearthstone, and now people in future may know that they will manipulated by a system. It is a shame really
