Boeufhaus Experience

Pre-Covid, I went once a month regularly with several special occasions sprinkled in throughout the year as well.

I was elated to get back there two weeks ago on the re-opening weekend, and even more so to see (and taste!) that quality was still top notch.

If I were taking my wife for her birthday, here's what I would do (we lean strongly into sharing everything we order):

  • Cocktails (well thought-out and executed program, and seems like that's continuing on reopen)

  • Appetizers / Small Plates - Pick two to share, I like:

    • The beignets of course
    • Either or both fish options (fried and crudo)
    • There's always good veg options - radish + butter, and the salad du marche, most recently (though I haven't had them since reopen)
    • The tartare is extremely good but I'd only order that when we weren't having steak for an entree
  • Bottle of wine (tell them what you like and they'll give great recommendations)

  • Ribeye to share

  • Non-steak entree to share - got the scallops when we went (which was swapped in that night for the halibut)

  • (Alternatively, skip the second entree and get a side or two with the ribeye)

  • Dessert: optional; they're very good but I'm usually stuffed by that point

Have fun! It's really a very special place and I'm so happy it's reopened (and just a few blocks from me).
