So this is just my theory, but I think the reason new sitters show up so high is that Rover starts everyone out with perfect 100 sitter scores. To keep 100, you would need to book every single message, have them review you, and repeat book. This just isn’t practical and totally normal not to be perfect.

As you get messages for clients that don’t work out or clients that don’t repeat, your average scores go down a little bit. People who have been on longer with more reviews, repeats, and bookings but also more opportunities to miss the “perfect” Rover score so there is some variance in the order. Plus super secret algorithm stuff.
