Moving out proves nothing other than you have sufficient funds to pay rent. The fallacy of “independence” in this situation doesn’t make sense as he’s the one showing independence by supporting his family. It seems like you both want different things and the only thing I foresee occurring if he moves out is the family feeling like he’s abandoning them and building resentment towards you by him. A year and change in a relationship isn’t very long at all so I would advise you both against signing a lease together until you really know more about each other. This isn’t a decision to be taken lightly. Give him the 2 weeks and if nothing changes, break up. It just doesn’t look like you both want the same things so it’s best not to force it.
