BOPIS Fulfillment Apology to Customers

This is such a moronic way to try and cheat pick decline, you're just making a ton of extra work for yourself, adjust out the items you're replacing, having to process more returns, making sure the right items are getting returned to inventory so your on-hands don't get even more fucked up, having to call up customers to apologize, probably having CROs to deal with. It's so much simpler to just shoot holes and adjust your on-hands correctly to begin with.

How my store has been handling pick decline: everyone picking orders has to check with me or the MIL if they can't find an item. Even our SL and ASL will double check with someone who spends more time with stock before declining. If it's a true inventory discrepancy, we either adjust it out immediately or take a picture of the UPC to do it later. MIL is actually checking the high dollar report with each shipment and for the most part people are actually looking at packing slips from ASNs and POs to make sure vendors aren't short-shipping us.

It is really shitty, though, that pick decline is back on the scorecard for management again. Order volume is still way up and the system is beyond fucked. I've had to short items for an order when our on-hands for them were correct. Items in a SFS order aren't automatically taken out of the system until the carrier comes to pick them up, so and item can be paid for, picked and packed but still in our inventory, so we're getting hit with extra pick declines and multiple movements because of that. On top of that, DCs are an absolute shit-show right now, so short shipping is a huge problem. Management are being set up to fail right now, and it's just a big compounding, cascading, shit-waterfall of stress that's turning otherwise okay managers into assholes who give their trembling zoomer associates daily panic attacks.
