[Breaking News] Orlando Nightclub mass-shooting.

Putting the TL;DR first since this post is very long.

TL;DR:

  • My thoughts go out to anyone involved in any way to this shooting. I am so sorry this happened to you/a loved one/etc...
  • Please see posts about blood donation if you live near Florida (in a hurry, so I can't link to them). They are probably near the top I hope.

  • Not denying any involvement with ISIS or other groups, as I have no idea

  • Any race/religion could do these sort of attacks (and have)

  • Ex: If an anti-government militant group somehow became as large as ISIS and as well at recruiting, internet savvy, etc... we could very well see attacks from these type of people, especially with the political climate the way it is.

  • Let's stop making this "white guy shoots up somewhere = mental health issue" while "brown guy shoots up a place = terrorism"

  • The shooter/piece of shit could possibly have a mental health issue also. If what his father said is true about the shooter getting pissed about seeing two gay guys kissing, and then choosing to shoot up a gay club? Even with ISIS leanings if he has any, this is a fucked up reaction to what he witnessed; i.e. a reaction that someone with a mental health issue may have.

  • I do not sympathize or any other kind of -ize with the shooter. The POS killed and injured countless people and then "got the easy way out" so to speak bu being killed himself.

  • I don't agree with a lot of what I know of the religion in general equality terms, especially what goes on in other countries, but I also know many people of middle-eastern descent (that live here in the U.S.) and they are perfectly good people.

I'm not going to deny any ISIS ties between the shooter, or any radicalist leanings, etc... because I have no idea aside from what the various news sources are saying, and honestly I don't care right now, aside from the fact that it needs to be found out so that other people on the FBI's list can be scrutinized more/again/whatever. The sad part is, it seems like ISIS and others are encouraging more "lone-wolf" type of attacks, so anyone off the radar could be planning an attack.

Unfortunately, it's the same with white people or any race (although white people are statistically the main mass shooters; at least in the U.S.). To the rest of us, the attacks are random, to the person(s) doing the shooting, they have some motive (or an actual mental health issue) that causes them to do one of these despicable acts.

As far as I know though, there isn't a huge group of internet savvy "people" ("people" is in quotes because although technically the correct term, they really are just pieces of shit) urging non-radicalized muslims to kill others. There are plenty of militant anti-government websites on the internet, but no one has taken up the position (or has been unable too) as the lead of a giant group of radical anti-government people to start a very effective campaign of propaganda, along with urging (and actually carrying through with) terroristic attacks on random citizens, like ISIS and others have. I assume part of this has to do with it being much easier to find information on/get an informant inside these organisations when they are inside of your own country.

That being said, this is a terrorist act, whether or not the shooter has any ties to ISIS or any other organization. Can we quit playing the "white guy shoots up a place = mental health issue" while "brown guy shoots up a place = terrorism"? Either damn way it's terrorism, in this case, it probably will make gay people and probably even straight people rethink going to the club, or enjoying a night out where it will be crowded.

One last thing, no matter his ties to any organization, has anyone thought that (ignoring possible ISIS ties or whatever) this guy also had a mental health issue? If what his father said is true, then seeing two guys kissing made the shooter so upset that he shot up a gay club and killed at least 50 people! There are plenty of things I don't like to see, but although I have guns, I never once wanted to hurt or kill someone, despite seeing things I dislike. I hate saying this, as the shooter deserves no respect or any link to what could be considered humanity, but possibly a mental health issue is part of the reason why he "pledged to join ISIS" or whatever the media said.
