Was Brian socially awkward?

I don't know him obviously haha, but I don't think he was that socially awkward. I read that he was actually decently popular in high school because he "had a good laugh". He was quarterback on the football team which requires pretty good communication skills (he also played a bunch of other sports, but QB stood out to me). Listening to interviews of Brian during the 60s, he was super talkative and seemed to like sharing experiences and conversation with others - seemed very passionate about the overall vibe/culture of the late 60s just as much as the music. He was amicable and patient with session musicians in that era, too. Even in the 70s interviews, Brian was super talkative and pretty in tune with social atmosphere/graces, imo. After digging a bit, I've found plenty of interviews with Brian where he talks about things besides music - he seems to enjoy doing that, too. Aside from any of the obvious mental health problems, it seems like guys like Brian Wilson and even Syd Barrett could actually be real social butterflies.

That said, Brian could definitely be quite awkward, based on some of the info out there.... lol.
