Burned out by loved ones who are hoarders and feeling guilty

You never ever have to feel guilty about being burned out, that's just a temporary state of being in response to extreme stress and exhaustion. (I even think of burn out as a form of self-protection, it's like the brain and body get a little numb and checked out to prevent you from operating at that high level of stress and energy.)

If it helps at all, this is way beyond your skill set! I am not saying to stop caring or trying, but it would take an experienced mental health professional a very very long time to make progress with a serious hoarder. You can't be expected to solve this.

My best piece of advice to you would be to take time out and away from both homes when you can. You sound lucky, to have a good friend and a boyfriend. Find ways to really enjoy life away from that hoard, preferably in nature. Go for long walks, breathe fresh air, be in open spaces.
