To buy or not to buy a tesla

It's a simple answer - which one do you care about more? 1. What others think about you, or 2. Making smart financial decisions? In both of your situations (the car and the girlfriend) you're going to have to choose either #1 or #2. Everyone in this sub will tell you that #2 is obviously the correct answer.

Buying a brand new vehicle is one of the worst investments you could possibly make. It changes from "new" to "used" status the second you drive it off of the lot and immediately loses half of its value. Absolutely a no-brainer. Who cares whether you drive a Tesla or a Civic - a car is a car if it gets you from point A to point B reliably.

Is your girlfriend with you because she loves you or because she doesn't have to pay rent? There's only one way to really find out... Giving her $1,750 per month is a lot of money, and a worthwhile girlfriend will carry her own weight.

Between the car and the girlfriend, we're talking about burning $2,400 a month. That's a lot of money to waste!
