Can we bring back the “unpopular opinions” thread?

As the awards came out, I read the “unpopular opinions” thread that I had previously missed in its entirety and couldn’t help but want to comment on something that was 115 days old!

Here are mine:

1. I really can’t stand Love Story, I recently watched all the tour videos leading up to the Rep tour for fun and had to see Love Story every time. I know it’s tradition and I recall hearing a long time ago that it was her favorite song she’s done- but don’t quote me on that, but still. Bored of it.

2. Something about watching her get all “sexy” during the 1989 tour makes me cringe. And it’s not that she isn’t sexy, because she totally is! Something about it just rubs me the wrong way when she throws herself on her back and scoots across the floor and rubs all over the dancers with garter straps and thigh-high boots. And don’t get me wrong, it did NOT bother me to see a sexy side of Swift during rep tour, there was just something about 1989.

3. A couple interviews that I’ve heard also make me cringe- do you guys happen to remember the “I’m naming names wink” maybe for Speak Now promo? Especially when media likes to say that she has never outright and purposefully used someone publicly in a song to get attention. Another interview during the 1989 tour movie, she just HAD to bring up the time when she thought Red was being called for album of the year. This lead me to watching YouTube videos of her reaction which so made me want to crawl inside myself and hide. Poor thing! But let’s not bring it up 3 years later!!

Rant over, I just wanted to say my piece too. And I feel bad now. Maybe let’s balance unpopular opinion 2.0 with some positive feedback for the girl who has stolen all of our hearts? Here are my 3 positives to my 3 unpopular opinions.

1. She never disappoints me, and I’m not sure she ever will. I’ve loved every album in succession because I honestly feel like they’ve been a genuine part of her out on display and I’ve always appreciated that about her.

2. I’ll be honest, most of my haircuts over the last 6-8 years have been inspired by her to the point of bringing in her picture saying “I want the Taylor Swift.”

3. Anytime I see people say something about Taylor of FB comments (the trolls) I genuinely get triggered and sometimes it makes my face blush with anger. When you all say something I don’t agree with, I know it’s out of love because of this community. So thanks for that!
