I wonder if Taylor would ever go on hiatus to live life. Another favourite songwriter of mine did it for five years. It was torturous for us fans but she’s since returned with 3 amazing albums. She said she realized she had people doing her taxes and taking care of her everyday life things that she had no life experience to write on so she took a break, moved to London, got married, had a child, divorced, and lived her own life on her terms instead of the studio and says she’s a better songwriter for it (there’s a really good Zane Lowe interview with her about it). That even though she took an extended break, she could never not write music. She’s about 8 years older than Taylor so I wonder if that’s something on the horizon for her.

If anyone is interested I’m talking about Utada Hikaru. She’s Japanese American and also started when she was 15 and blew up in popularity in Asia in the late 90s/early 2000. A lot of similarities in their career trajectory.
