Can’t I just suck because I’m having a bad game and not because I’m a girl?

I've seen it go both ways though.

I never bring up gender in voice chat, especially because people can have masculine or feminine voices and not identify or really be whatever you think they sound like, especially because some players are younger and so they have a higher pitched voice.

I've called out female players in the past, just as I do male players, and get shit for it. Stuff along the lines of "we face enough gender discrimination already I don't need you telling me how to play the game". Basically saying because they're a girl I shouldn't be saying anything about their gameplay.

And I'm never outright toxic. I've never once said "you're shit" or "uninstall" or "learn to play the game" or anything like that, to anyone, regardless of gender. I get passive aggressive sometimes, sure, but for the most part it's just "I don't think this hero pick works super well here" or "can you try doing this next fight instead" or stuff like that.

But I have indeed gotten flamed for pointing out mistakes of a player who's female. I try to treat players equally but it seems like I should only be critiquing my male teammates a lot of the time. Idk
