Thank you OP.
I feel you much and here's my story:
You convinced me not to invest to PSVR and sim racing rig.
I'm 20 and i have been earlier very hardcore gamer. Countless of hours spent to Ultima Online, Battlefield series, runescape etc. I have pretty decent computer ( I7, gtx 970 ) but i decided to use it only for working purposes half year ago and moved whole machine to my office. Side note: working as a photographer in small media house.
Nowadays i play almost entirely only in good company. My friends have a PS4 and we play mostly NHL and Battlefield. ATM Wildlands beta. I'm glad that i have decreased my gaming hours from five hours a day to five hours in a week.
SO there is my other big passion aside gaming and photography:
Driving.
IRL i drive 90s W124 benz and it's decent daily vehicle and also fun to ride cause rear-wheel drive. I often drift in ice and that's amazing, but it doesn't entirely satisfy my hunger to drive fast and hard.
So when dirt rally vr came out, i thought it could be an answer with good rig. But let's face it: it's only a game after all. I would enjoy it, but it's not gonna fill my passion to drive.
Earlier i had DFGT W/ PC and DR and it was lots of fun and damn close, but it still felt a game.
TLDR; I don't buy racing rig, instead I'm gonna buy old Quattro or something cause it's real and i can afford it.
And sorry about my english, I'm a finn and i speak "rally-english"
