Leaving behind a pension to become a SAHM?

I respect where you’re coming from with the social security thing. My mother was a sahm and I see how she is doing. She gets a little but not as much as if she’d been working more. I do have to ask, would it change your mind if I told you I’m married to a European and we pay into France’s social security already in addition to the US? We did it this way because my husband would like to retire there when we are older. Regardless of me working or not he will continue to contribute for our family to maintain benefits and health coverage. This is one of the reasons why I’m not as concerned about the US social security benefits. I’ve spent years working and have paid into them. But I do plan to return to the work force once the kids are older.
