Carving/Frontside Skis

It depends more on the ski profile (GS vs SL for example) and the length than the brand. High end GS skis are very similar and simple getting use to the one or another makes it work.

Saying that I don't particularly like modern day type of reviews where for example a Stockli AX is advertised as a perfect groomer and also a wonderful mogul ski. Of course they all slide over the snow and you can force your style on any ski and any terrain. But that's not very optimal for high level style and performance.

I went from my early years as an SL racer to freestyle and freeride to telemark. I still go often in alpine moguls to maintain my skill but each time I felt a sensation of additional freedom of what you can do on skis and can't imagine to go back to specifically carving ski on telemark. I do it here and there just for the heck of it but a couple of lifts and it gets old pretty quick. /grin

Though I am just about 60 now and safety is becoming a concern when flying over a mauntain at high speeds. So I avoid it lately and focus on technical aspects.

I would get an old beat up GS carver ski and try to see if it gets you any advantage to any of the skis you already have.
