And … You’re right; clean domesticated animals should not briefly go in fridges according to health codes... Because there’s no code for that since it doesn’t happen. What does happen is that rats piss and shit and afterbirth all over everything in transit. Ships have rats. There is literally a threshold of rat bodies and feces you are allowed to have in food because of this. That is part of the health code :) But of course you conveniently worked in grocery stores and restaurants and you had pets. So you know all this. You think the back of a restaurant is cleaner than a dog being briefly placed in a fridge? You didn’t notice your coworkers drop things and put them back? I bet you worked at a super great clean restaurant where there weren’t bugs or cockroaches or vermin. It’s literally everywhere, even upscale places.
