Kante has been bad for weeks and hasnt been good in ANY big games we've played this year. Fabregas is a different type of player to Verratti, Kante and Matic. Every time he has played the teams passing and ball circulation has improved (as well as someone passing it forwars for once). We've struggled v every team that presses us with kante-matic (and others) and we beat one of the most intense pressing teams in the league with fabregas playing, the week before (tottenham) matic and kante were destroyed and let tottenham walk all over us - so much for their defensive solidity. Verratti gives us Kante's defensive ability as well as technical ability and bally carrying ability. Matic and Kante is another argument but I think Matic has been better than him overall and Matic is much better for that sweeper role than Kante is, if Kante was getting pressed so close to our defence in the situations Matic gets pressed in we would have conceded twice as many goals as we have. Matic has also been much better defensively at picking up loose balls and tackling. Kante started off well but even the thing hes meant to be good at (tackling, intercepting, screening) he has been bad at since at least the Southampton game and more importantly in EVERY big game we've played
