Christian fundamentalist schools are teaching girls they must obey men. Former pupils reveal that homosexuality is being taught as unnatural, while Creationism is favoured over evolution in science lessons.

The PACEs (workbooks) have about 30-40 pages each. In my time at the school I must have done about 80 of these books. There was only really 1 book that was about Creation vs Evolution. I believe in Creation, not because of what my school taught me, but because of what I have looked at and researched for myself. We have had many people go through the system at our school and still believe in evolution. Not at any point were they bullied or mistreated because of this. We would have open and frank discussions about the differences and to be honest I believe me and my sister know more about evolution than my peers who went to state run schools. This is because we were able to talk about it. At most state schools no other option is given and evolution is stated as fact. Students have no idea how to properly learn and believe in something until they talk about it and have to defend it. As I said I believe in Creation, but at the ned of my schooling I feel that neither should be taught as fact or fiction because neither have been proven true. So the few snippets in the article are taken from a couple of pages from a workbook. Considering I probably did about 2100 pages and only a few pictures proving someones point can be picked out, I don't think it is brainwashing at all. I really enjoyed Science at school and found that the work I did was on par with any other school. I learned electronics, chemistry, and biology just like any other student. I will admit the school did lack the facilities to do any really exciting experiments which was a shame. What the article seems to omit is that most schools in the UK only do the PACEs in the morning while doing normal lessons in the afternoon. I was able to do hands on chemistry and dissection in science while being taught by a trained paramedic.
