You're right. No one would actually say that because its a ridiculous thing to say. I'm talking about the people who will endlessly defend cop's actions no matter how egregious with things like "you don't know what its like to be out there" or things similar. Thats what you hear people actually say. Basically using the "officer was scared for his life" therefor deadly force is justified.

I live in a densely populated but still somehow rather homogeneous and conservative area of the country. Lots of civil servant families and such who are big trump supporters over here. These are the people I hear this stuff from. They are definitely real people. These are people who have no issue with the Eric Garner killing. They know their cousin, brother, nephew's friend, etc are NYPD so they would never think ill of the institution.
