UB can’t even maintain a steady supply of PPE and disinfectant supplies for its chemistry research labs. We have a weekly ration of gloves, alcohol, etc. We can’t even get vital supplies for doing our research. For example I needed to get some spatulas for weighing out chemicals and some tape for labeling things. I got only one...the last spatula from the chemistry stockroom and the last roll of tape. We ordered chemicals 4 months ago; still not here. There is no timeline for when we can get inventory back to normal or at least expanded. UB will be rationing supplies even more as other other departments open up their research labs and need supplies from our department’s stockroom. Once teaching labs open in August, there will be even more restrictions to the point where research will grind to a halt...not good for an R1 research institution. So to answer your question, I highly doubt they will have enough of anything to go around as is. Dorms and students will most likely be on their own.
