Coastal NIMBY Starter Pack

I don't enjoy living in a rural environment. I enjoy living in the environment that I grew up in, which is in a single family home in a moderately low-density town on the outskirts of a moderately high-density urban environment. People are in this thread telling me my preference is wrong and that all the people who have lived in the Bay Area for years and preferred it this way are wrong and that we are NIMBYS and basically all manner of things. I would love for transit to be more effective, and for there to be better infill development, but a lot of people who move to the Bay Area seem to think we need to raze the Sunset and kick out all the old Chinese people in single family homes to build a new Tokyo and add 7 story buildings along every major corridor in the Bay Area.

I live in a walkable environment right now. If I have any amount of errand I generally spend my entire weekend running them, from the laundromat to the grocery store to Target, etc. Buses and transit are much slower and more inconvenient than cars and walking with boxes, bags and laundry is inconvenient af. Our grocery stores in the city are also smaller and more expensive. I honestly save up my errands for when I visit my parents as I'm able to take care of almost everything quickly and enjoy the inefficent and wasteful backyard.
