Whether they said it or no that's what they think. Authoritarian Governments fear youth the most. More importantly the college-educated ones. That's why there are intelligence agents on all college campuses in Egypt and if somebody said something they don't like. They make sure he or she is well taken care of. And their worst nightmare is Egyptian youth studying in western countries and being exposed to western values like democracy, rule of law, and more of these things that they are not a big fan of.

In addition, I don't think it was altered because it was said in the context of justifying the arrest of an Egyptian researcher when she was visiting Egypt because of the subject of her research. With all respect due to the claim that this comment was altered is just BS, they say, as they realized that the comment is utterly stupid.
