Cooking with a smaller pan, 24cm(9inch), in order to manage portion size/not overeat, good idea?

The plate thing was such game changer for me. I used to cook food and then put all of it in my plate and then I would end up eating it all quickly. I started then cooking food and only putting a few spatulas into a plate, I would eat it and then if I was hungry I would do the same thing again. This resulted in me eating more slowly and becoming more aware of when I have become satiated, and I would realize that I am satiated before I finished eating all the food. So this works wonders. I am however looking to also cook in smaller portions because sometimes when I get stressed I stress eat, and this entails that I just eat everything that there is cooked. So making all together a smaller amount of food and not cooking enough food for the whole day or two days I think will solve this problem for me.
