Taste Fatigue

Sauté Chef/Saucier. A good saucier/saute chef is the flavor specialist on the line in the brigade system. Flavor is what they do. There is no simple answer or short list of things that they do. They have to learn all the fundamentals of sauces and flavors. There's nothing that they can tell you in a few minutes to explain what they did to your food based on their years of training and experience.

Sure, it's good to learn how to improve flavor in your food. How many years and hours do you have to devote to that effort? It's unrealistic to think that you can reproduce what they've done without the same level of time and effort they spent to learn how to do it. It's not as simple as printing out a recipe and handing it to you.
