Concession stand prices at the NBA Finals

Ridiculous prices aside, who actually prefers going to professional games? An hour to get there if you leave early, and an hour and a half to get home. Walk a mile from your parking spot to your seat. Pointless security checkpoints. $100 MINIMUM for you and a friend just to attend. Annoying constant crowd noise. Nasty crowded bathrooms. Overpriced food that is also shittier in quality than most movie theaters. Shitty seats made by the lowest bidder. Waiting around with nothing to do while the TV commercial breaks play, constantly, every 5 minutes, turning what should be a 2 hour game into a 3 hour affair. A shitty view of the game from hundreds of feet away. Clouds from the smokers on the outside of the stadium. A constant pervasive knowledge that you are getting shaken down at every turn just to make some rich people richer.

OR, for half the price you could:

Eat pretty much whatever you want. Drink as much of whatever you want with unlimited refills (and if you plan ahead, you can have a commemorative glass too). The freedom to smoke weed if that's your thing. Sit in the comfort of your home. Use commercial breaks strategically to fetch cold beer and to use your pristine toilet without an audience. See great camera angles of every play and instant replay. Control of your desired noise level. The ability to actually hold conversations with friends about the game without having to scream. Comfy seats. No travel time required.

Of course there are a few reasons to go to sports events.

  1. You're running from a hitman and need a public place to wait at until the police arrive.

  2. You hate your wife and children and need to go somewhere too expensive for them because you took away your wife's credit cards before you left.

And that's about all I can come up with.

As always, my opinion is right and fuck you for even thinking about disagreeing.
