Culture Exchange: Welcome /r/Pakistan! Today we're hosting /r/Pakistan for a cultural exchange!

In Turkey, there are seven regions (Marmara Sea including Istanbul, Aegean Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, Central Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia, Southeastern Anatolia [which is Kurdish majority]). The most common way Turks tell jokes are short little stories called fikras. People from the Black Sea region have a reputation for being good-hearted but, well, sort of stupid, and one of the most popular genre's of jokes are about a dumb guy from the Black Sea named Temel (Temel, which is a common name in Turkish, means "basic").

Temel heard that in Germany, it is easy to become rich. His friend Dursun tells him that there's so much money there that you can be rich just from picking up money off the ground. Finally, Temel decides to immigrate and when he gets to Kreuzberg, he sees a ten euro note on the ground. He's about to pick up but stops, and thinks to himself, "I just got here, I don't want to start working yet."

A second one:

Temel is walking around Istanbul with his friend Dursun. A tourist comes up and asks them, "Do you speak English?" and when they don't respond he says, "Parlez-vous Français?", and then "Sprechen-Sie Deutsch?" Finally, when he realizes that he can't communicate with them in any language, the tourist gives up and walks off.

Dursun turns to Temel and says, "You know, we should really learn a foreign language."

Temel says, "Why? That guy knew three and it didn't help him one bit."

I don't actually think they're that funny most of the time, but they're very common. Do you have jokes about people from different regions?

Separately, I'm sure you guys can talk trash about people from different regions, but do people from different regions have different positive reputations? For example, in Turkey, women from Izmir are known to be particularly beautiful and people from Kayseri are particularly clever businessmen.
